Man we tried rum with everything, mojitos, daquiris, rum and coke, rum and oj. Just to name a few, but we probably tried 40 differnt drinks. No real recipes this time, just a psa to expand your horizons some time and order or make something you have never had before. The Mix Masterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11066891721178927784noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3546093366110584864.post-61104850972268474352010-11-09T17:27:00.000-08:002010-11-09T17:27:58.917-08:00Jolly Rancher infused vodkaLast week I was bored and decided to make a vodka infused with Jolly Rnachers. I made several different ones for each of the flavors and have to say that this is something I would do again, as these mixes have very bad tastes. The only one that was sort of good was watermelon. The Mix Masterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11066891721178927784noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3546093366110584864.post-63349724837749036732010-11-07T14:48:00.000-08:002010-11-07T14:48:43.674-08:00SohoSo I picked up this little bottle of Soho the other day at the liquor store and thought it had a interesting taste to play around with it. Soho for those who don't know is a lychee liqueur that is made in france, that has a strong lychee flavor with little alcoholic taste even though it is 21%.
I have been trying out a fair bit of gins out and this is the one that I love the most.
Its bright juniper and subtle flowery tastes make it my favorite even infront of the standard around here which is Bombay Saphire. For you who don't know Banana Jacks are half JD and Creme de Banane. For my version put a few slices of banana at the bottom of your shaker and then put in the JD and CdB, but do not muddle. Just shake it and strain it, this will imbibe the fresh flavors of banana but not make it to chunky or the likes. The Mix Masterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11066891721178927784noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3546093366110584864.post-71797668216678501172010-10-21T17:01:00.000-07:002010-10-21T18:33:34.949-07:00Vodka WatermelonIn prepping for tomorrow I have been trying to figure out what I could do with watermelon for friday night, after browsing around google and found the vodka watermelon. This may be a bro kindof thing to do but it is pretty good and can get you pretty trashed if you have a few.

1. Get a bottle of vodka and watermelon
2. Cut a hole in a watermelon just large enough to fit the neck of the bottle in it.
3. Put the neck in the hole so the vodka pours into the watermelon.
4. Wait for about a day, might be quicker or slower but that will be usual.
5. Slice up and eat, or ball it and freeze it as watermelon cubes. The Mix Masterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11066891721178927784noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3546093366110584864.post-71432132799931136942010-10-20T19:19:00.000-07:002010-10-20T19:19:06.800-07:00Watermelon MargaritaI was at the store and they had watermelon on sale so this weekend will be all watermelon drinks. I will start off with a watermelon margarita, which is so much more better than those premade margarita mixes.

1. Slice up a watermelon and put in 3-4 scoops of it your glass
2. Muddle it in with a little sugar or the triple sec about 1 oz (optional)
3. Add in ice
4. Add a reposado tequila 2-4 oz (whatever you want)
5. I saw them onsale to see what I could make of them. I got home and tried combining and nothing was working. I made a Cement Mixer to get the juices flowing and low and behold a decent shot. Lychee drinks will come later...
I substituted Kaluah for it in a B-52 to make it much more stronger. I assume that you could also find a orange liqueur with a higher proof also to make this even more effective.
I have been drinking some ginger juleps this week and decided to buy some ginger from the grocery store. I have been making different shots tonight and found that if you put half a shot of creme de methe and then get a bit of ginger and make some ginger symple syrup. Then mix them together untill you have your perfect mix.The Mix Masterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11066891721178927784noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3546093366110584864.post-45761383299745351082010-10-14T12:39:00.000-07:002010-10-14T12:39:00.548-07:00Caramel VodkaSo a follow up of yesterdays mix I will talk about another vodka infusion that was good. For this one you use the same qualitys but it only takes about 5 days for this one but it takes a very small filter for you to get all of the particles to make it a smooth drink. I put a 40oz of vodka into a sealed container that was 3/4 full of fresh strawberrys. I bottled it and stored it until today, after filtering and straining it I tried it. It was the most tasty vodka I have ever had, well technically a kind of gin now, but I would recomend doing it.The Mix Masterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11066891721178927784noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3546093366110584864.post-33640001527054779932010-10-12T15:56:00.000-07:002010-10-12T15:56:25.626-07:00Pornstar

This is a drink that I just got introduced too, I have heard of the shooter, but this is a better mixed drink.
I have been trying to create something with a festive taste but I have to say pumpkin, squash, turkey do not belong in any drinks.
